Time to go East again Blog 5: Bridges and Dolphins

July 11, 2016

Travelling back the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge(Longest bridge)  is equally exciting travelling on it.  It took 15 minutes to travel its span. It really is spectacular.

We continued on to visit Emiko’s son. He was windsurfing on the coast.  I had not seen him since he was about two years old in the UK.  He has turned into a lovely young man. Sorry girls thought I would withold his photo.  He is very handsome.

it was a very, very, very hot day. So while we were waiting for him to come into shore we went to visit the Dolphins at the nearby  Sanuki Dolphin centre. japan does not necessarily have the best reputation with dolphins but this centre was very well organised and for the benefit of the species.

For the first time in my life I got to touch one and feed one.  All very carefully controlled so as not to hurt this beautiful mammal.  They appeared to love connecting with people.

Then home via the tallest bridge in the world.

This country really is a nation of bridges.

Emiko really has me using my time to the best effect.  Tomorrow lectures with students again..
